PREPARATION:
We
first begin to prepare the plane by removing the dust and loose
debris with the California Car Duster. |
|
DE-BUGGING:
We then
remove any bugs or bird droppings from the leading edges of the
wings, horizontal & vertical stabilizers as well as the cowling,
engine nacelles, flaps and landing gear. This is all done using Wing
Waxers Degrease/De-Bug Cleaner.
This
biodegradable, non-toxic, non-flammable product has many uses.
Unlike mineral spirit solvents, our Degrease Cleaner also works
excellent at removing bugs from cowlings and leading edges as well
as bird droppings from upper surfaces. It's very effective at
removing exhaust stains and it makes an outstanding aircraft wash
when diluted with water. Two ounces of Degrease Cleaner per one
gallon of water is recommended. |
 |
|
 |
DEGREASING:
After
a thorough de-bugging it's time to degrease the Belly, Landing Gear,
Cowling and/or Engine Nacelles. Again this task will be accomplished
using Wing Waxers
Biodegradable
Degrease/De-Bug Cleaner in compliance with all EPA regulations. |
|
DEOXIDIZING:
At this point
we'll need to deoxidize all painted surfaces (over & under) with
Wing Waxers De-Ox Cleaner. The deoxidizing is a necessary step
regardless of "how new" or "how good" your paint presently appears.
Deoxidizing the paint will ensure maximum adhesion of our PTFE
Sealant by removing any wax, grease, exhaust and any oil films. Our
De-Ox Cleaner is an ultra mild abrasive of a 3300-grit factor
combined with detergent additives making it impossible to ware
through any painted surface. Typical rubbing compounds have an 800
to 1500-grit factor.
Deoxidizing an
aircraft surface prior to using our PTFE Sealant is an essential
element of successfully rejuvenating an old tarnished or oxidized
finish. Our De-Ox Cleaner is a "paint safe" non-abrasive formula
that will not risk removing paint from rivet heads or lap seams. It
will however do an outstanding job of removing such stains as fuel,
oil, burned exhaust, acid rain, bug-splash and pollution, as well as
old wax build-up. After
the use of our
De-Ox Cleaner the aircraft will have a high lustrous shine. |
 |
|
Don't let this
lead you to believe that nothing more is required, this has simply
removed the oxidation which looks great but offers no protection
from the elements that put it in its previous condition. To retain
and enhance this appearance, sealing is required.

You have only taken off the surface layer which looks great, but
offers no protection from the elements that put it in its previous
condition. Sealing is required to retain and enhance its
appearance.

SEALING:
After
washing down the entire aircraft to remove all dry residues from our
De-Ox Cleaner, we will apply Wing Waxers "One-Year" PTFE Sealant.
This product will offer you the highest possible reflective value of
your painted surfaces, as well as afford you the absolute ultimate
in paint protection. Unlike a common wax or polish that will
. deteriorate in just a few months, Wing Waxers PTFE Sealant will cure
to form a thermal plastic resin to last well over a year in most
cases.
|

|
The acronym
PTFE comes from the scientific word "Polytetrafluoroethlene." It is
a thermal plastic resin that is inert to
nearly all chemicals as well as acid rain, bug-splash and high ultra
violet or high pollutants.
It is
recognized by the Guiness Book of World Records as being the
"slipperiest substance known to man." It is very simple to apply and
just as easy to buff out, whether working by hand or using an
orbital polisher. Rather than leaving a hard crusty residue common
to a wax or polish, our PTFE will set with just a light haze that
can be removed with the wipe of a towel. This prevents the ugly
build up of car and other waxes in the dimples around your aircrafts
rivets. |

 |
In the hot
desert sun of the Mojave, you can expect our finish to last well
over a year, so you can be assured it can master the hot Texas sun.
This product is to be used only on a clean, dry, deoxidized, wax
free surface for best results and maximum adhesion. |
 |
Gary,
She looks great. I can't remember when NXXM looked that nice. The
belly looks great.
I prefer the
PTFE to wax. And, I like the ease of cleaning the big Texas sized
bugs off of the PTFE.
I hope you're ready
to get busy, because I'll be posting a big thumbs up on a couple of
internet forums.
My best,
L. S.

Underside treatment:
Our
Belly Sealant is a one-step blend of our De-Ox Cleaner and our PTFE
Sealant. This product will offer 12 months of protection on all
"under" surfaces. Being that it is a mixture of the two products, a
thinner layer of PTFE will actually cure to the surface.
This
being the case, it should not be used on surfaces exposed to UV
rays. When used on top surfaces that are exposed to UV, you can
expect the finish to last approximately 6 months |

|
WINDOWS:
Our preference of
products for cleaning Plexiglas, Lucite, Lexan or Acrylite windows
is Plexus "anti-static" Cleaner, Protectant & Polish. Though all
plastic polishes tend to streak and smear, Plexus leaves the least
noticeable residues behind and offers the highest in clarity.
|
|
BRITE-WORK:
For those of you
that have polished spinners and/or propellers etc. we use Nuvite
Aluminum Polish to give you the "closest to chrome" finish you'll
ever see anywhere. No other product even comes close to the finish
we achieve with Nuvite! |

|
RUBBER TREATMENT:
No job is
completed until we've cleaned and treated your Tires, Rubber Seals
and Deice Boots. For this task we use Wing Waxers "silicon free"
Rubber Lubricant & Protectant to bring back the rich black color and
reduce the deterioration.
This product
serves well for the finishing touch of the aircraft. It is extremely
effective at bringing out the rich black luster of tires, de-ice
boots and rubber trim. Aside from the attractive and finished
appearance it gives the aircraft, it also lubricates the rubber and
greatly decreases the dry rot of rubber. Its uses don't stop there;
this product also works very well on the plastic of instrument
panels, vinyl panels and seats, vinyl or plastic headliners and
leather upholstery. |
