Aluminum Polishing
We have
mastered the art of polishing all aluminum planes far beyond any
reasonable expectations. We've developed and refined our own system
to enable us to offer you a show quality chrome appearance for your
aircraft. From start to finish we actually utilize up to 3 different
machines, 5 different applicators and 4 different products to
achieve our "show quality" results. If your paint is in such a
condition that you're considering repainting your plane, a polished
aluminum finish may be for you. Only we can offer this
transformation from beginning to end.
Rouge:
This is where
it all begins! This rouge bar will offer the highest cut short of
actually sanding. We would begin with rouge in cases in which the
aluminum was recently stripped of paint, corroded, sanded or
weathered for years. In these circumstances, the use of this product
is the only way you'll ever achieve that "show quality" image. But
remember, this is only the first cut of several other cuts that will
be required to do so.
Tripoli:
This white bar
would be your second cut to follow after the brown coarse cut rouge
bar. The Tripoli will remove the light scratches and movement marks
from the brown bar. At this point you'll start to achieve the chrome
looking appearance. However there will still be very fine micro
scratches that you'll need to feather out with other products
recommended below.
Nuvite
Nuvite, "C"
for a medium cut, "A" for the mild finish cut. The Nuvite line is
unbelievable! When everything else fails, Nuvite succeeds far above
any other product. These are the only products that will give you a
true "show quality" appearance. Any time you see a polished aluminum
aircraft at a show, ask what they used. WE can assure you they'll
say Nuvite.
Aluminum Sealant
The final touch is our proprietary
sealant. It is a polymer that bonds to the aluminum to protect it
from rain, fingerprinting and oil, making your aluminum aircraft
easier to maintain. This sealant does mildly dim the polish, as any
sealant does, but you can see that the reflective finish stays as on
the C195 below. Also be aware that the hard water in Texas, left on
bare metal after a wash, can actually start microscopic corrosion,
which shows up as pinpoint size white dots, similar to overspray.
This can lead to a need to 'go back' to rouge in some cases to
remove them.
